Earn College Credits With Your IB Courses!

All of the universities that make up the UNC System will award college credit for IB courses! In most cases, students who pass all of their IB exams can earn up to 32 college credits in our North Carolina public universities. Many private colleges and universities also award college credit, but policies vary.

Students are encouraged to research credit policies at each school where they are interested to apply. As of August 2024, the UNC system no longer has a uniform credit awarding policy across its 16 campuses.

The IB has curated a database of universities from around the world where students can explore admission data along with credit awarding policies. Click here to view the database.
