I am proud to be a Gryphon- past and present. I graduated from Rocky Mount Senior High. Now I have the honor of helping the youth and families in my hometown, as a school counselor at RMHS. I was born in New Mexico, and raised in North Carolina. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from NC Wesleyan College. I completed my Masters Program In Human Services & School Counseling from Capella. I was a classroom teacher in Nash Rocky Mount Schools from 1998 to 2007, and in Florida from 2007-2013. I also served as a Professional School Counselor with NCC credentials in Florida from 2013 to 2024.
I am grateful to authentically enjoy being a school counselor even after 27 years in education. My goal is to become a resource for all students and families. My mission is to be a catalyst for growth mindset to overcome fixed mindset among our youth locally and globally to ensure students from all backgrounds get a fair chance to succeed and thrive.
