Mrs. Brandi M. Deans proudly hails from Baltimore, Maryland, and is a product of its esteemed public school system. She earned a BS in Mathematics with a Minor in Computer Information Systems from what is now NC Wesleyan University, formerly NC Wesleyan College. Continuing her education, she pursued a Masters in Middle Grades Mathematics at Walden University and obtained her Administrative Add-on from Gardner Webb University.
Mrs. Deans's journey in education began in Baltimore City, where she taught mathematics for four years in both the public and private sectors. In 2003, she relocated to Rocky Mount, NC with her daughter and commenced her tenure at Nash Central High School. Seeking new challenges, she transitioned to JW Parker Middle School in 2006, remaining until 2010.
In 2010, Mrs. Deans moved to Manassas, Virginia, where she spent two years teaching math and also served as a Middle School dance coach. In 2012, she returned to Rocky Mount, married her loving and supportive husband, Mr. RaJhon Deans, and blended their families, raising two beautiful girls who both graduated from Rocky Mount High School. Since then, she has been dedicated to Nash County Public Schools, teaching at Edwards Middle School and earning the honor of Middle School Teacher of the Year for the 2014-2015 school year.
Driven by a passion for learning and leadership, Mrs. Deans pursued advanced degrees that prepared her for diverse roles within the district. She has served as an Instructional Leader at JW Parker Middle School, Nash Central Middle School, and Edwards Middle School, as well as an Alternative School Director at Nash County’s Evening Academy. Mrs. Deans has also served as an Assistant Principal at Nash Central High School and now proudly holds the position of Assistant Principal at Rocky Mount High School. Her career has been immensely fulfilling, shaped by the positive relationships she has built with future leaders.
Mrs. Deans is excited to continue fostering meaningful connections at Rocky Mount High School and looks forward to contributing to students' success.
Mrs. Marks has 17 years of experience in education. She was born and raised in Nash County, where she attended Coopers Elementary, Southern Nash Middle, and Southern Nash High. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University. Mrs. Marks obtained her Administrative Add-On from Barton College.
In 2006, Mrs. Marks began her educational career as an Exceptional Children’s Instructional Assistant and bus driver. Mrs. Marks also has experience as a middle school teacher and elementary teacher. In 2021, Mrs. Marks transitioned to the MTSS Facilitator role at Swift Creek, Cedar Grove, and Red Oak Elementary. In 2023, Mrs. Marks served as a Multi-Classroom Leader at Red Oak Elementary. Beginning the 2024-2025 school year, Mrs. Marks will be entering her first year as an Assistant Principal. She is beyond excited to begin this new journey at Rocky Mount High.
Mrs. Marks enjoys spending time with her family at the beach and boating at the lake. In her free time, she enjoys reading a good book and baking.
Mrs. Marks is honored to serve the staff and students at Rocky Mount High. She looks forward to helping students achieve their goals and becoming successful citizens in our society.
