Post Secondary Options

Selective Service
All young men, with very few exceptions, are required to register with the Selective Service within 30 days of turning 18. Registration is a federal law. You may register online at www.sss.gov. Registration is required in order to receive financial aid for college.

UNC System Minimum Course Requirements (4 year state universities in NC)
• Weighted GPA: 2.5 minimum (or minimum ACT Composite of 19 or minimum SAT combined score of 1010)

On April 7, 2022 the UNC Board of Governors voted to extend the current testing waiver for students applying for admissions through Fall 2024.

Students will have the option to submit an ACT or SAT test score, but test scores will not be required for admission decisions. Those who do not submit a standardized test score will need to meet the minimum weighted GPA of 2.5 to be considered for undergraduate admission.  Some other significant requirements:

*  must be in the Future Ready Core Course of Study
• Math through Math 4 or Precal
• 2 levels of a World Language
