Juan Carlos Hormazabal

I was born in Santiago, Chile (a country in South America). I studied to become an English teacher at Universidad de Playa Ancha in Valparaiso, Chile and then obtained a second degree in Drama Direction at Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso. I came to the United States in 1992 and lived and worked in Coulee Dam in the state of Washington and moved to Rocky Mount, North Carolina in 2001 to teach Spanish at Rocky Mount High School and I have been at this school since then where I have taught academic classes and in the International Baccalaureate Program since 2005 and I have also been a Soccer coach for the school. I love what I do and my main goal is to teach children and everybody that we live in a global world and that there are many interesting things about other cultures and countries. I like showing that we are citizens of the world and that we cannot live without learning and respecting others, no matter how different they may be, look, or have been raised and must have an open mind and heart to accept the differences.
